Micah Hooge has lived his entire life in the Fraser Valley and brings 23 years of experience in residential construction. He first joined the CHBA Fraser Valley in 2013. He holds a Red Seal in Carpentry and has owned his own construction company for 11 years. Micah has experience building high-performance custom homes, as well as working on residential, commercial, and agricultural renovations. He is passionate about passing knowledge onto the next generations and believes in giving back to the community and causes that matter. When he’s not working, Micah enjoys spending quality time with his family, going for a run, hitting the gym, or embarking on adventures with his wife.

I am currently the Director of Contractor Sales for Fraser Valley Building Supplies Rona and bring over 22 years of experience in the construction industry. Throughout my career I have worked closely with CHBA Fraser Valley and I am both honoured and excited to now be a part of the board. My background includes a broad range of projects—from small-scale renovations to large multi-family developments—collaborating with contractors and developers to drive innovation and explore new ways to improve affordability in the industry. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time on the golf course or with my two young daughters, ages 6 and 9.

Jamie started working in the industry with Ernie Redekop over 20 years ago and has experience in both multi-unit residential construction as well as custom residential construction. Jamie specializes in quality management, building sciences and energy efficiency.

I am a project manager with Quantum Properties, a multi-family residential and commercial buildings developer in Abbotsford. I have been with the company since 2009 and started off as a sales associate working with our sales team selling condos in various Quantum projects and eventually worked my way to assistant sales manager. From there I have also had the opportunity to work in various departments in the company which included assisting in the accounting department, property management and eventually the construction department. I had the opportunity to step up into the design coordinator role in 2019 as well as project manager. More recently my main focus is my role as project manager and I have since then completed two multi-family developments with more on the horizon. My husband and two boys have lived in Chilliwack for the past 7 years and share a love for cars and drag racing as a family. Most of our weekends are filled with racing at Mission Raceway Park as well as traveling to the United States to race at different tracks. I am grateful for the opportunity to sit on the board of the CHBA-FV and hope to contribute some of my knowledge that I’ve gathered over the years in the world of multi-family development.

Taylor has been involved with the Canadian Home Builders’ Association of the Fraser Valley for several years and is excited for the opportunity to join the CHBA Board. He has lived in Abbotsford for the past 26 years. He has 4-year-old twin daughters, and a 6-year-old daughter with his wife Kathleen. When he is not spending time outdoors, playing hockey, or flying airplanes, his focus is supporting local construction through continuous learning and communal partnership.

Michael Liu is the regional manager for FortisBC’s Lower Mainland Residential and Commercial New Construction Team. He leads an expert group of Energy Solutions Managers who are responsible for year-over-year incremental growth in customer attachments averaging 10,000 new customers per annum, delivering essential energy to over 1.2 million customers to heat our homes and places of work, learning and play while enhancing lifestyles with reliable, secure and cost effective energy solutions. Michael’s team partners with builder-developers to bring innovative energy solutions, energy efficiency rebate programs and low carbon fuels (including renewable gas) to new buildings. In his personal time, Michael trains for and competes in marathon and triathlon events. He recently completed Ironman Canada in Penticton and he looks forward to Boston Marathon in 2023.

Steve has been involved in the Construction Industry since 1995. He started working in the construction trade from the ground up as a carpenters helper and started framing on his own as a subcontractor in 1998. Steve is the owner and president of Atsma Construction Ltd. and has been working as a General Contractor and Builder since 2007. He currently builds custom homes, spec houses and works on large home renovations. Current large projects Steve is involved in are a 17 unit row home project as well project coordinator for an $18 million new construction and renovation build at Abbotsford Christian School. Steve has been a Board Director at ACS for 5 years and has coached volleyball there for 5 years. Steve is married and has 3 kids in grades 12, 11, &8. He enjoys spending time with his family and watching his kids play sports and live and grow in Abbotsford.
